We are delighted to be back for Tissington Well Dressing 2024!

Join us on the first two days of Well Dressing week as we bring you a selection of the finest handcrafted and independently designed products from around the local region, hand picked for these special artisan markets.

By prioritising quality and originality, Tissington Craft Fairs offer visitors the opportunity to explore a diverse selection of products from stunning ceramics and quilted textiles to wildlife artwork and natural skincare all reflecting the skill and passion of our artisan makers. Support independent small businesses and learn about the unique story behind every creation.

Our venue, Tissington Village Hall, is located between the Town Well and the Yew Tree Well. You will find us directly across the road from the village duck pond, which is an ideal spot to watch the adorable ducklings. The building benefits from a Wi-Fi connection, which means many of our stallholders can accept card payments with ease.

A Cherished Local Tradition

This Peak District tradition has been a part of Tissington life for centuries and we feel very privileged to be a part of it. There are 6 wells in the village, each dressed with a design created entirely from natural materials including coffee beans, leaves and petals from local flowers. The dressings are erected on the eve of Ascension Day (Wednesday 8th May) and will remain in place until the following Wednesday evening (15th May).

At the Well Dressing markets visitors can explore a diverse selection of products from intricate gemstone jewellery and quilted textiles to traditional woodwork and modern floral arrangements.

Our venue, Tissington Village Hall, is located between the Town Well and the Yew Tree Well.   • Only 3.5 miles from Ashbourne on the A515 to Buxton. During the Well Dressing week there is a one way system in operation for vehicles coming into the village. There is a different entrance into the village than usual but this is clearly sign posted on the A515.

  • There is a small charge for parking in the village and all funds raised go to local charities. Disabled parking is available.

  • Once in the village on foot, head past Tissington Hall and keep left. When you see the duck pond, turn left and the village hall is on the left hand side.

  • Bus services: High Peak 441 or 442 services that run between Ashbourne and Buxton and have 3 allocated stops in the village.

This Peak District tradition has been a part of Tissington life for centuries and we feel very privileged to be a part of it. There are 6 wells in the village, which are dressed with a design created entirely from natural materials including coffee beans, leaves and petals from local flowers. The dressings are erected on the eve of Ascension Day (Wednesday 17th May) and remain in place until the following Wednesday evening (24th May).

Our venue, Tissington Village Hall, is located opposite the village duck pond and between the Town Well and the Yew Tree Well. The building benefits from a wi-fi connection, which means many of our stallholders can accept card payments.

  • Only 3.5 miles from Ashbourne on the A515 to Buxton. During the Well Dressing week there is a one way system in operation for vehicles coming into the village. There is a different entrance into the village than usual but this is clearly sign posted on the A515.

  • There is a small charge for parking in the village and all funds raised go to local charities. Disabled parking is available.

  • Once in the village on foot, head past Tissington Hall and keep left. When you see the duck pond, turn left and the village hall is on the left hand side.

  • Bus services: High Peak 441 or 442 services that run between Ashbourne and Buxton and have 3 allocated stops in the village.

Tissington Hall will also be opening it’s garden to visitors on 29th August and celebrating 85 years as part of the national garden scheme.
