This Peak District tradition has been a part of Tissington life for centuries and we feel very privileged to be a part of it. There are 6 wells in the village, which are dressed with a design created entirely from natural materials including coffee beans, leaves and petals from local flowers. The dressings are erected on the eve of Ascension Day (Wednesday 17th May) and remain in place until the following Wednesday evening (24th May).

Our venue, Tissington Village Hall, is located opposite the village duck pond and between the Town Well and the Yew Tree Well. The building benefits from a wi-fi connection, which means many of our stallholders can accept card payments.

Why not visit Herberts Fine English Tearoom, Tissington Nursery, On a Wick and a Prayer and the Tissington Trail while you are here.

Enjoy free entry for visitors to the craft fair and dogs are very much welcome too!

  • Although there are steps up to the main entrance, alternative access is available on request suitable for both wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility.

  • Disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are also available.

  • Only 3.5 miles from Ashbourne on the A515 to Buxton. During the Well Dressing week there is a one way system in operation for vehicles coming into the village. There is a different entrance into the village than usual but this is clearly sign posted on the A515.

  • There is a small charge for parking in the village and all funds raised go to local charities. Disabled parking is available.

  • Once in the village on foot, head past Tissington Hall and keep left. When you see the duck pond, turn left and the village hall is on the left hand side.

  • Bus services: High Peak 441 or 442 services that run between Ashbourne and Buxton and have 3 allocated stops in the village.
